OVER HYPED AND OVERLY RELIGIOUS
There were almost half-dozen-eight pure dancing routines, and I idea 2-3 of them were practiced. The rest seemed recycled from the other routines, with just unlike background and outfits. The costumes were brilliant and a huge positive. There were 6-8 "plays" (ballet/dance) of which 2-3 were entertaining. The rest were pretty basic ballet and nothing special. Almost ALL of the "plays" were religious based which was kind of a turn off. The music was good, but later 2+ hours of it, it became VERY monotonous. A singer came out and she literally sang the aforementioned song twice - dorsum-to-back. In one case was plenty. It was a religious song with nearly 50 words. There were two MCs: a young white male and a young Asian women. They were pretty flat and lame. Information technology was VERY annoying that she would repeat everything in Chinese. We are not in China. I don't retrieve it added to the show. It annoyed. If you really love ballet, you would similar this prove; Otherwise, the show was iii stars at BEST.

A UNIQUE SHOW, A UNIQUE Feel
i went to run into ShenYun twice considering they take a new production each year. i have never seen a show similar this before. ShenYun has the visual office which are the dazzling costumes, animated properties and synchronized movements. it also has the invisible function that is the righteous values and teaching components embedded in each story trip the light fantastic. Basically, everyone can pick something they like from the show, whether information technology is the dance, live music, costumes or the stories from ancient to contemporary Prc. ShenYun is like a time machine that brings me dorsum to different time and space!

WOW, BUT NOT FOR THE Right REASONS.
First, I'd like to bespeak out the preponderance of positive reviews that so not appear to be written by native English language speakers, which, after concluding night's testify, leaves me reply suspicious nearly their authenticity. If that sounds a scrap paranoid, you'll have to forgive me, but I just saw sat through three hours of what corporeality to a lot of twirling and backflips interspersed with horrendously pointed religious propaganda all set before an underwhelming projection to unintentionally comical effect. I'm annoyed that my mother forked over $300 for tickets and that my sis flew in from out of land for something that ended up being non what was advertised. Light on culture, heavy on propoganda. This was perhaps most directly evidenced by the swain holding the banner proclaiming, "Falun Gong is Skillful".

SHEN YUN
I never expected to see such a bad show at the Arsh Heart. I hope Shen Yun is erased from 2019 programming and on. This evidence take almost no artistic quality and does not reflect the exquisite Chinese culture. Besides that, the spectator is subjected to an undesired religious propaganda. I attended the show with seven other family unit members and we all have the same opinion.

Dull; WAISTED TIME AND Money
The show was not like one piece that you lookout from the commencement to the end on one breath (similar for example cirque du soleil "O"). Ii hosts after each dance number were so boring bringing all dynamics of this concert then downward. The technical part of the prove was also poor and outdated, may exist x years ago this video project of poor quality was not bad. The orchestra sound must be better - this is 2018 and they should use microphones to make a perfect audio to connect to the "prove". There are some ridiculous dance numbers with cell phones and all these communist anti-propaganda. There is no leitmotif and logically developed direction - only anarchy. And phase as well looked poor because at that place were no decorations and they relied on this poor projection on a screen. Bottom line - nosotros are very disappointed. Lost money and time. If you think that we are the just people who complain on this show, type in google " south san francisco shen yun review on yelp". Not recommend this at all.

PRETTY COSTUMES, VERY Proficient ORCHESTRA BUT TONS OF FALUNG GON
Oh my... where to first... This show is definitely overpriced for what it really is... Costumes are colorful, and the dancers are adept (not that impressive), only there is and so MUCH political and religious propaganda, that'south is both, unethical and outrageous. Went to see this show in Vancouver, March 24 2018 and I was shocked of how much propaganda content there was. Besides, nosotros found the flying spirits, angels and demons in and out of the huge video screen were super tacky and kind of ridiculous. The banner they showed despicting "Falong Dafa is proficient", and the communist bad guys beating good samaritans were like the (rotten) cherry on the acme of the cake... If I would have known about this , I would have never paid $119 each ticket. Felt similar we contributed for their political and religious entrada... We only desire to let people know and so they can take a better informed decision than we did!. If the propaganda doesn't bother yous, and you're willing to spend $120 or more each ticket, go for it

FALUN DAFA PROPAGANDA WITH DECENT DANCING
ii/iii of the testify was decent Chinese dancing and 1/three was "Falun Dafa Is Good" propaganda with Chinese police beating dissidents, a piano number singing how just repenters will exist saved, and an catastrophe where a heavenly tidal wave destroys people's republic of china and the rapture- equivelant occurs in hokey cgi. That said I liked the scholars dance, the soldiers trip the light fantastic toe, and would picket some other Miao trip the light fantastic toe even if the scientologists put it on. Overall mediocre for date night.

Dainty PERFORMANCE, BUT NOT Equally Skilful AS EXPECTED
The dancing and music performances were expert, but i was left wanting more acrobatic and thrilling stunts. The costumes were colorful and fit well with the performers. For what you pay i was expecting more elaborate routines or more than stunning visuals, but i have seen other musical performances that outshine this show. I took my mother, married woman and two young children and none of u.s. left getting what we expected. We saw the operation at the Paramount Theater and the seating was not bang-up. I sat two rows backside a alpine gentleman so I was going side to side in my seat trying to get a decent view the whole evidence. My young children could barely run into anything over the heads of people in front of united states likewise. The seating is not stadium seating, so information technology'south the luck of the describe if you lot have a good view or not. Based on myself and the people effectually me, i was not the only i with this problem. Unless y'all actually desire to run across this show and are okay with a slight religious undertone, save your money.

FAKE CHINESE FOR A WHITE Crowd. READ THIS REVIEW.
What they aren't telling you is that Shen Yun is the primary financial income for a Chinese cult. The dance routines are definitely not accurate. It's like shooting fish in a barrel to run across modern ballet moves and typical dance routines. The costumes are not accurate. They're made to Ooh and Ahh the gringos with lots of flowing sleeves and bright colors. There is usually only one Chinese musical instrument playing at a time being accompanied by several musicians playing violins and other modernistic instruments to provide it's western entreatment. My commencement blood-red flag was the noticeable absence of whatever Chinese in the audience. The second red flag was the constant reference to their god and how he ascended from heaven. The third red flag were all the volunteers at the get out doors trying to get you to give them written and video testimonials for use as marketing materials for futurity shows. As I discovered afterwards, this evidence is a breathy fund raiser for a Chinese Religious Cult. We Americans are gullible and easily duped.

Foreign POLICY MAGAZINE:Footloose AND FALUN GONG
'Shen Yun', a performing arts visitor founded in 2006, gradually expanded over the years and their tours around the world are in the proper name of traditional Chinese civilisation, but have been controversial in Mainland china. It is regarded equally a microphone of 'Falun Gong' in China, engaged in the anti-authorities propaganda. Subsequently viewing the operation of 'Shen Yun', some audiences in western state causeless that it carried a rude political motive with a depression artistic level. "After the interruption, everything was crystal clear. Shen Yun is zilch more than than a podium for Falun Dafa/Falun Gong." On March 26, 2017, Michael Duell, a reader from Phoenix, Arizona, wrote a letter to azcentral.com subsequently watching the bear witness, which referred to 'Falun Gong' Shen Yun perform was a deceptive testify, and argued that Shen Yun was backside the show, and the so-called art director, was the leader of 'Falun Gong', Hongzhi Li with an allonym of D.F.. He said: "Later the intermission, everything was crystal clear. Shen Yun is non

DON'T Bother
Only one dance kept my attention. Found myself wanting to get out a few minutes in only stayed considering my daughter was so excited to see it and I didn't want to ruin her mean solar day. The religious aspect was in your face and annoying. The dancing was but okay.
Whitney from Norfolk, Virginia
HOKEY AND BORNING
Despite the orchestra's cute sound, the Shen Yun performance was very hokey and tiresome. Backdrops were juvenile and rinky dink, felt like a romper room performance. All of the dances were the same and not impressive at all. Nosotros expected a much better bear witness, especially considering the cost. We barely made it to the interruption so we could leave. Wish there was a process to asking refunds. Lesson learned.

COMPLETE Waste product OF $600 (I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SHOW.)
I feel like I got scammed by Shen Yun. I don't call up I would've attended the show with my child if I knew the prove involved that much religious content. The ad of Shen Yun never showed any hints of a item religion in accelerate. However, the prove is specifically about 1 specific religion (Falun Dafa) and kept on insisting on its values, background and teachings. The yellow propaganda sign used past the dancers during the show which advertised Falun Dafa was very tacky aesthetically at the first sight of it and secondly information technology was once more very inappropriate because there was no hint of Falun Dafa in the marketing materials of Shen Yun. Luring prospect audition in like this with disguised marketing materials is a fraudulent scheme. Information technology is very disappointing and inappropriate. I experience similar I got scammed by Shen Yun and wasted $600.

ARTFUL, BUT Non ENTERTAINING
This show is a compilation of styles of dissimilar classical dances from People's republic of china. The Chinese government, since the communist revolution, has worked to eradicate what it considers to be elitist art. These dance and music styles take been eliminated from China, merely some Chinese peole here in America accept perserved the art. The trip the light fantastic styles and costumes are very beautiful and interesting, but unless yous speak Chinese, the singing and overall performance tends to be long and boring. In that location'south no overall story, since it is styles from beyond many centuries. I'chiliad glad I wnt to run into information technology in one case, but I probably won't ever go over again.

Disappointment.
The show was not like i piece that you watch from the beginning to the end on one jiff (like for example cirque du soleil "O"). SHEN YUN 2018
Saw the 2018 Shen Yun performance at McCaw Hall, My wife and I were "prepared to exist amazed", but left very disappointed. The performers were great, only the show lacked an easy menses. After each set, two narrators appeared on stage to introduce the next set and explain everything. The brand narrator tried to inject some lame humour from time to time, and that just didn't work. Would accept been better to only eliminate the narrators and let the crew change sets with curtains closed. Abreast the continual communism beating, we noticed a definite western bent on the testify. The kicker for united states of america was the scene where i male dancer happened to plant his face up in the rear finish of another male dancer. Dancer A gain to fart in dancer B's face up, knocking him over backwards. Very funny. Just the kind of thing we were hoping to see in this product. And so lamentable! Nosotros had cheap seats ($90.00 ea), and I was happy that we didn't get the expensive ones. Overall, not worth the price for parking,

The costumes were beautiful, but for the $100.00 per ticket it wasn't worth the money. The dances were the aforementioned over and over again. In betwixt each set a lady came out speaking Chinese. why? This is the USA. The show advertisement is amend than the testify. I would not recommend it. We were a group of iv and no one liked the testify. The theater was ok, only there was a lot of people that kept talking during the show. The advertisement brand the show appear amend than it is. The reviews they show, are individuals who were paid to give a great review.

This was a political show, boring, and the same affair over & over over again. The costumes were beautiful, only that is it. I would non recommend this show to anyone. The reviews yous see on their web site are fake. Don't waste your money.

I LOVE SHEN YUN
I find this show to exist a truly remarkable production. I take watched it several years in a row and observe it amazing that each twelvemonth they create a whole new show. The technical abilities of the dancers in Shen Yun is far beyond any other Chinese dance operation I accept seen. Their power to dance in perfect synchronization just blows my mind. How do they do information technology? To brand all the costumes is its cocky amazing. Such delicate fabric has to exist mitt sewn. They are truly gorgeous. As a musician that loves classical music I am transfixed past the way they have blended Chinese and western instruments in such a flawless fusion to create a new sound. It is similar whole new way to express music that is at one time contemporary withal ancient. The scenes from contemporary Cathay are and then moving. Such not bad traditions take been lost to the communist rule. I am ever left with a great sense of promise for not merely China but all of humanity afterward seeing Shen Yun. I say its a must see evidence

6 YEARS IN A ROW, ENJOYABLE, INSPIRING, AND EDUCATIONAL
I have seen this shows vi times, and I brought my family to the bear witness 5 times. But check those pictures, those backdrop, the dancers' movement and facial expression, the dazzler is stunning, and the culture they presented is inspiring. No group tin can present something every bit pure and as sincere as this group.

WORTHY Operation; RARE Jewel FROM THE US
I have been hearing nigh Shen Yun for quite a few years at present. As a fan of Cate Blanchett, when I realized she took her entire family to come across the bear witness, I thought this show must really be something. I was watching Lord of the Rings reruns and I thought, "Hey, she watched Shen Yun!" At last, I convinced my husband to go see this; I am then glad I did. All I can say is that you must picket it at least one time to get the full feel. I heard later on this show isn't allowed in China. I can see why... because they are not fake like everything else the communist does. This show is Made in the USA, and non Fabricated in Communist china. I am sold.

MAGNIFICENT AND UNIQUE
It'southward a evidence I have never seen before, considering the full-stage large digital animation backdrop- it extends the stage not only to high above the heaven, simply besides transport me dorsum to thousands of years ago. Impressively cute !

SUPERB
Saw the performance last yr in Seattle—very, very well done. Top notch in every respect. A genuine glimpse into Communist china's aboriginal culture.

DECEPTIVE MARKETING
I have seen neat classical Chinese performances by other companies. I expected the same superb quality from Shen Yun, especially for the exorbitant price. Sadly, although I appreciated the instrumentalists and the costumes, most of the dances were unimpressive. The compulsory Falun Dafa propaganda spoiled the prove. I accept a bad feeling about who is profiting from the ticket sales.
Sandy from Seattle, Washington
SHEN YUN IS Monumental
I have seen this show three times in Seattle, and am returning to see Shen Yun over again this yr. Each yr there are new dances and the backgrounds just continue getting better and ameliorate. I have never been disappointed. It is quite uplifting to see all the beauty and colors presented in the show, peculiarly when the days are grey and rainy outside, it is a breath of spring in winter and I always come out with new inspiration and my spirits uplifted! I would definitely recommend to someone planning a great dark out in Seattle.

THE BEST Prove I'VE EVER SEEN
I am a lover of classics, music and dance. Ballet attracts people for its movement, symphony touches soul through tones. But, this show comes to a perfect match for both. I have seen information technology in Austin last December, and couldn't help to spend the next day seeing it for the second time. Many of the bad comments here are pretty misleading, how could you feel satisfied for a classical Chinese dance simply expecting a ballet? It is Dissimilar genre! To clarify some common misunderstandings, say, all programs are repeating. They are about totally unlike stories, but meanwhile all 20 programs manifest an integrity of spirit, compassion and braveness. Believe me or not, you gonna never encounter shows of this level anywhere else.
Carmen from Renton, Washington
WELL DONE
A very well done functioning. You can tell the dancers enjoyed themselves immensely. In that location were two points in the prove where I was moved to tears. A beautiful way to spend a few hours. At McCaw Hall, there isn't a bad seat in the business firm.

Well-nigh WONDERFUL Evidence I Take Ever SEEN

THE BEST SHOW I HAVE E'er SEEN!
Shen Yun is the best show I have always seen. I go to meet it every twelvemonth since 2012. Each yr information technology is new! How yous tin can describe the pure beauty of the experience in words? Check out on youtube Russian ballerina talk nearly this with tears in her voice. She understands the dazzler and difficult work to make information technology happened. I tin can't wait to encounter Shen Yun 2016 show. We all dream to go better! Shen Yun leads us there to Truthfulness and Pity by that hard work and such corking squad working together for all us. Thank you Shen Yun!

This is such an beautiful, amazing performance. The colors and visual back drop are dazzling, truly a banquet for the eyes. If you haven't seen this, you need to get!

OK, Simply TOO HEAVY-HANDED.
I enjoyed many of the dances, and the costumes and music could exist very pleasant. However, the show was far likewise heavy-handed politically, and the advertising did not requite an authentic picture of the kind of bear witness we would receive. Some of the dances told a fun story and I especially enjoyed some of the instrumental content, but the opera singers and several dances were quite preachy. The CGI backdrop was cheesy, and a concluding dance of Buddha wiping out Falun Gong persecutors in a wave of judgment was, well...not what I came to see. The toll of the tickets did not at all reflect the quality of the prove. Beware of Shen Yun!

Beauty IN ITS MOST ENJOYABLE FORM
When I first experienced shenyun I knew its was the most heartouching blessing that I have always received from such dedicated talented young people . This evidence deserves every single half star or star rating that information technology has received and once you sit in the theatre y'all will not regret what you lot accept seen. You lot will exit the theatre with tears of joy from the beatiful bulletin sent from the from the smiles:-) on all of their faces. Hope fully you volition leave that theatre feeling refrreshed and reborn fom tthe show and I hope you that every yr they come you will run to the theatre like a child running down stairs to reciev their christmas presents. IHighly recomend this testify and I hope you will too. Even if you don't see this show more than one time it will be an experience you will never always forget and you will appreciate the day that you were showed in groovy detail and beaty the importance of ancien tasian civilizations and others besides.SHenyun is truly the best

AN UNINTENTIONAL UNFUNNY CHINESE MONTY PYTHON Feel
The apply of a massive groundwork movie screen showing drawing characters literally billowy effectually during a series of repetitive dance routines, 5000 years of Chinese history is not. I kept thinking a Monty Python blazon cartoon character of God was going to popular up and make some farcical statement to united states of america. The male and female MC's were uninteresting and boring while constantly referring back to their Falun Gong religion - which this evidence is essentially all about, and which no mention is fabricated prior to arriving. I am not accepted to having to Google and verify a ballet operation prior to attending information technology, just later on this feel, I realize I will now accept to practice so. In that location were a couple musical pieces that helped avoid making this a total waste of time and money. We have attended and enjoyed ballet, opera, comedy, plays over the terminal xxx years - Over all this was just awkward and unimaginative with few bright spots - none of which came close to the quality of past theatre experiences.

BAD Testify
The testify was very disappointing. All the dances seemed the same. The anouncesr between the dances were so monotonous. The show was slow moving and irksome. Would not recommend information technology. People were leaving in the eye.

SHEN YUN RECONNECTS US TO THE TRADITIONAL CHINESE HERITAGE
Shen Yun is reconnecting us to the traditional Chinese civilization heritage. Since 2006, our family has been watching the Shen Yun bear witness each year. We are amazed by the beautiful costumes that show the richness in People's republic of china'southward past. Our kids love the stories, from journey to the west to legends of mulan, it is the all-time way to larn the five,000 years of Chinese civilisation.

WELCOME Back SHEN YUN!
I love the Shen Yun performances! They are so beautiful and touching-- they give me chills, bring tears to my eyes and inspire me. I now go every twelvemonth to the Seattle operation. Because they bout around u.s., my family members around the country take had the chance to see performances likewise. It's nifty that nosotros can all share what our favorite piece was. I am e'er amazed how the performers can move in such synchronicity. And, they sometimes seem to exist able to defy gravity! McCaw Hall is such a cute venue also. A perfect place to showcase such a magnificent operation.

Can'T WAIT FOR THIS Twelvemonth'S PERFORMANCE
I've seen the Shen Yun show for the concluding 2 years, and can't wait for this twelvemonth's functioning. I love all the vibrant colors and the cute music. I've never seen a performance that uses an blithe backdrop like this earlier.

NEVER SEEN Any Evidence Like THIS!
Terminal year I went with a friend, a 60 year old real estate broker, to see Shen Yun. Before seeing the show, he did non quite know why he wants to sentinel a show that "revives the 5,000 years of Chinese culture". Only when the drapery rises on the 1st plan, he knew. He told me later on, "I accept never seen a testify similar this! I had tears in my eyes just listening to the music, and I don't know where it's coming from!" Another friend of mine, a 50 year old scientist, watched Shen Yun concluding year too. On his spare time, he practices and teaches a meditation from Bharat. His story was fifty-fifty more amazing to me. He told me that he had neck ailment for a long time. But as soon as he entered the theatre, his neck pain was gone. He said, the free energy field is that strong in the theatre! Well, I am not likewise surprised given that in ancient China, traditional music was used for healing, and fifty-fifty in battle to fight the enemy. The 5,000 years of aboriginal Chinese culture is only that astonishing!!

Nosotros were extremely disappointed. This bear witness is NOT nearly Chinese performing arts, information technology's about a subconscious political and religious agenda that is forced on the audience. My wife and I will never run into this show once again nor volition we ever suggest others to go.

MY Family unit WAS ENCHANTED
I went to Shen Yun two years ago with my family unit. They were enchanted, fifty-fifty my rather macho son-in-constabulary and 9 year one-time grandson. which rather surprised me. What a remarkable group of young people, and the story of the troupe itself is inspiring. My aunt was and then impressed with the professionalism of the performers, and I dear the costumes.

A DIFFERENT SIDE
This evidence was political. The dancers and trip the light fantastic was beautiful, clothes wonderful merely the purpose was doubtful. Would not run across it once again and subsequently some research volition not suggest for others to encounter it.

Phenomenal PERFORMANCE
I watched their functioning in 2012. It was really overnice experience. I experience dancers were all like flying to the sky and landing on the pillow... it was really amazing! Furthermore, I especially beloved their colorful costumes and animated backdrop. They perfectly lucifer together. Through their story based beautiful and graceful dance with unique alive music, I can realize the aboriginal Chinese culture and its realm. I was even like one of them immersing in a profound universe.. It was really a inspiring evidence! Strongly recommend it for everyone.

SHEN YUN VISUALLY SPECTACULAR, AWE-INSPIRING, Brilliant...
I just desire to post a quote from the interview with Gary Behrmen, professor and Dean at St. Louis University, "I am incoherent. It is visually spectacular, awe- inspiring, bright, and amazing. INDOCTRINATION
My in-laws purchased tickets for my husband and I to encounter this show with them. Earlier the show started, they go on and on about not taking photos. Ok. Weird, but that certainly tin can be distracting. The evidence starts and they are announcing in English and in Standard mandarin. I dearest that. It makes my father-in- police happy, and that is good! The dancers come up out, skilled, and in beautiful costumes. And so they showtime to sound similar a cult. Everyone who isn't Falun Gong volition perish in what looked like a massive tsunami. No more technology! Add that in to the campy sense of humor, and you have one upset family. My hubby and I felt like it was an indoctrination to a cult. His parents felt information technology was too political. China isn't winning whatsoever awards on humanitarian efforts here, merely come up on. They really felt similar a cult. Don't bother going. The dances are the aforementioned steps and movements, simply in different costumes. The theater was amazing though. Maybe Cirque du Soleil will come up to town.

DISAPPOINTING
I rarely write reviews, but for this show i feel it's my civic duty to warn people. This is a complete and utter sham. I'm then disappointed that I spent over $500 (for three of usa) to see a operation that wasn't up to the quality I've seen at my Granddaughter'due south high school dance performances. The ad for Shen Yun features phenomenal computer generated images that are projected onto a screen. In actuality the dancers disappear into trapdoors behind props and then announced in cartoon form on the screen. The dancing itself was uninspiring: mostly a lot of twirling that looked exciting because of the long flowing costumes. Same dance with different costumes and a unlike propaganda story repeated a dozen times. We left at intermission. I've been to hundreds of unlike kinds of performances in my life and have never, ever, left. Shen Yun has done a great job of marketing and I am sorry I didn't do my homework before buying tickets. Buyer beware....wearisome and mediocre.

SATISFACTORY GRADE FOR SHEN YUN
I was waiting with impatience for the concert after watching some interviews on Internet. The concert turned to exist a boring and archaic level of performance. Some dancers are skilled, but the residue are very entry level dancers. Very deplorable, that all these fake interviews are fabricated with the help of really professional person people in the USA. Some accept tears rolling on their cheeks. Faux TEARS! It is a shame to display Shen Yun as a masterpiece of a Chinese trip the light fantastic toe. I know what Chinese dancers can do, simply I didn't run across a real dance in this concert. Huge coin and very bad dance.

THIS IS A JOKE OF A Product
Exactly where was this "astonishing, life-changing, it made me cry" performance everyone raves about? I'1000 still in daze at what I saw. I've watched schoolhouse plays that were 10 times better. Seriously. I retrieve it's shameful a family pays that much money and and then is offered this. No set, no designs, non one prop. A movie screen with the quality of an early on nintendo. Horribly banal, slow and not loud enough music, inexpensive costumes, the same few dances over and over. Such cringeworthy narrators. Every act was exactly the same. Same sound, aforementioned dances, same music. Just the costumes were dissimilar. Left at intermission. Equally did many, many others. What a bait and switch. Yous pay for the experience you run across in the ads and the functioning everyone raves of in the reviews. That is NOT what you will experience. You should be able to make an INFORMED decision if you purchase tickets. How are they getting away with this?! I'grand not embellishing one whit. Information technology really was shockingly awful.

ITS INTERESTING THAT ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS ARE WAY IN THE Back.
Click beyond vi,7,viii,nine etc. Seems these are the real reviews. Buyer beware! I was planning on going myself but I don't call back I will waste my money afterward finding out what this testify is actually well-nigh and the lack of inventiveness.

SHEN YUN PERFORMING ARTS
If Eccles Theater continues to offer Shen Yun to Utah audiences, the performance should be marketed for what it is--a political performance past a disenfranchised ex-pat political group.

I WOULD Give IT ZERO STARS IF I COULD
This is nix more than a propaganda functioning by Falun Gong. I was deeply disappointed that the Ordway allowed such false advertising. Multiple people walked out and in the terminate our family felt robbed of $700. Do NOT waste matter your time or money on this performance.

ENTERTAINING, BUT Be READY FOR CULT PROPAGANDA
The show was a beautiful display of colour, dance and music. The music was played well but was as repetitive as the trip the light fantastic toe. It was billed as traditional Chinese art only I felt it fell far brusk of conveying anything traditional, other than a few musical instruments and some folkloric stories. Merely what disappointed me the most was the political / religious overtones that just got more heavy handed equally the show progressed. Non to give anything away but, the last few acts were zip but propaganda from the members of the Falun Gong "religion". This was started in 1992 in Southern China, chop-chop spread and the members have been persecuted by the Chinese regime off and on ever since.

MISLEADING PROMOTION - Salvage YOUR Money
Like some other reviewers - I am posting because it is only off-white to present the facts - then y'all make the decision. We did not read whatever reviews in advance or would not have wasted our time. Beyond the overt propaganda that is not advertised in advance - the performances were colorful, sometimes artistic, only uninspiring and boringly repetitive. The on-screen animations were primitive to say the least. After x minutes you lot have seen it all. And then at that place is the Falun Gong propaganda - this is a pseudo-artistic forepart for political fundraising

OVERPRICED REPETITVE CHOREOGRAPHY...SLOW MOVING
Hadn't read reviews hefore I saw this evidence and xx minutes unto it..I was already looking at my watch. The dances changed footling ..just the costumes. The backscreen was the only set decoration and I tired of the dancers jumping to exist hidden from vire so their digital images were projected on Backscreen. I pretty much agree with the negative reviews and will spend my side by side $180 ticket price on a show in New York.
Jane from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
NOT WORTH THE Money
I would not recommend this show. Information technology is way overpriced. The tickets should be effectually $xxx or $20. The show is non historical but political. You feel like you lot have been ripped off after that show. Perfect instance of how a good marketing can sell anything. I deeply regret getting tickets for it because they were so expensive.
Derek from Toronto, Ontario
IRONIC
Kickoff of all, the so chosen "traditional" dances in the operation are actually the reinvented and modernized folk dances that the Communist Office led to produce since the cultural revolution. And fifty-fifty the small shreds of authenticity left in these dances were lost due to the lack of production value in this item show. And of form subsequently a few numbers the testify launches into a over-the-acme vilification, even if well deserved, of the Chinese government. The eerie part is that the prove resembled the kind of propaganda the aforementioned government fond of utilise, in all aspects other than, again, production values. So unfortunately, to a Chinese, watching this show is similar seeing a desperately made vampire film where the newly bitten tries to attack its primary, with inexpensive blood and gore o'plenty. I would highly recommend this show if that's your thing.
Gabriella from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
WHATS ALL THE HYPE Nigh?? NOTHING SPECIAL AT ALL.
My uncle got tickets for us to see this testify. With all the advertizement and propaganda I heard most this show, I was expecting something truly incredible. I've seen many shows, musicals, performances, cirque de solei'southward and so my expections were really high. Reviews said its the "greatest show on earth"... Really?? Quite frankly it was then bland, even bordering on irksome. Yes, lovely costumes and synchronized dancing, merely very repetitive, simple and boring. Most of the people we spoke to around us felt the same manner. You most feel similar you were fooled and ripped off. Save your fourth dimension and peculiarly money. It is non a cheap venue, but wow... whoever is doing the ad for this prove are certainly brilliant... or actually pushing the truth...

WONDERFUL Operation Simply FRUSTRATING THEATER
The Shen Yun performance is gorgeous- full of colors and effects with clearly hard-working dancers and creative choreography. Still, the Detroit Opera House is a horrible layout for this performance. The main floor particularly is inappreciably on an incline- so children and adults struggle to see the operation completely or with any peace between shifting heads in the front rows. A better theater is needed for this so that everyone can enjoy actually seeing this production.
William from Mentor, Ohio
DOGMA, AND MEDIOCRE DANCING
The dancing was skilful, merely repetitive and in that location were merely two or three dancers that were truly exceptional. Your coin is much amend spent on Circque du Soleis, modern dance or ballet. I experience a bit ripped off by this expensive performance. I also thought the thesis of the performance was offensive. I am fine when people worship who they wish, merely when Shen Yun shoves their beliefs in my face, well it is simply offensive. When the words were scrolled on the screen of the almighty and that development was a dangerous thought i felt like this theater company has an calendar... and they clearly do. I DO Not RECOMMEND THIS SHOW.
Gracie from Detroit, Michigan
LEFT FEELING DISAPPOINTED.
Was really looking forward to a great show and left feeling very disappointed. Paid alot of coin for our box seats at The Detroit Opera March 2019, should have bought tickets to something else. There were a few adept numbers just the rest seemed copies of the one earlier. Too the baritone singer was really a waste of time. Such a disappointment.

I am really not into writing reviews, only I strongly feel it is my borough duty to warn people. I barbarous for the deceptive marketing and nosotros decided to buys two tickets for our 26th Wedding Anniversary and forked over $400 for ii balcony tickets. This is a consummate and utter sham. We have seen better operation at my daughters high school drama and dance competitions. Even so, the venue - Detroit Opera House was outstanding, which has been restored to its old glory. The Shen Yun ad features exquisite 3D reckoner generated images that are projected onto a screen in the background, where the dancers disappear into trapdoors and then announced in cartoon form on the screen. The dancing itself was uninspiring, felt like a low level Gymnastics grooming session with dancers in costumes while antient Chinese music piped in. Same dance routines with dissimilar costumes and a different propaganda story repeated a dozen times. It was torturous to have to sit through three hours of absolute misery! We take been to several different kinds of performances and have never, ever felt this bad. I would not recommend this to anyone, even my worst enemy. This is a major rip off, and then do your homework before you lot buy. Heir-apparent beware....

DISAPPOINTING Prove AND LOCATION
The advertisements for Shen Yun overstated what was presented. For $180 per ticket I expected something more than than a projection screen for set preparation. The costumes were colorful only I kept thing in that location should be more. Later on a while information technology was kind or tiresome and repetitive. Add to that the bad seating at the Merriam Theater. There is an always then slight incline for the front rows (nosotros sat vii rows from the forepart) so if a tall person (in the example of the person who went with me) or in my example a adult female with proofed hair sits in front of y'all, then your view is obstructed during the unabridged show. Not something you look when you pay $360 for tickets. I utilise a walker and the ushers were not all-around. They instructed my friend where to accept my walker. When I have gone to other shows the usher tags and takes my walker and brings it back at the finish of the bear witness (e.g., Cirque du Soliel). For my feel, the tickets are mode too overpriced.

AN EXPENSIVE Disappointment
This was one of the almost disappointing operation I've ever seen. A very expensive disappointment. The performers looked like really good cheer leaders, just zippo shut to a professional person operation. It was not interesting nor entertaining. Very over rated from the reviews I read. The only two things that were pleasant was the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida, and the costumes the performers wore. Seriously, don't waste matter your money.

Tedious AND DISSAPOINTED
NO Real Artistic CHALLENGES. THE DANCING WAS THE SAME WITH EVERY SCENE. NO HIGH POINTS IN THE Show. NO PROPS. NOT WORTH$100 TO $150. Possibly $50. I KEPT THINKING IT WOULD GET BETTER - It DIDN'T.OMG IT WAS BORING. NO COMPARISION TO VEGAS SHOWS, CIRCUS D SOLIE OR N.Y.BROADWAY SHOWS FOR THE SAME Money. EXPERIENCED SHOW ON 3/14/xiv.
Jinnette from Orlando, Florida
Beautiful SETTING Simply Tedious Functioning
The prove offers cute setting, Excellent dancers, just the play is boring and the vocaliser less than perfect.
Russ Johnson from Colorado Springs, CO
SHEN YUN
The TV ads hope thousands of years of Chinese Culture but the operation is as much dogma about the cult, Falun Gong, that is behind the Shen Yun product. That's the hidden agenda you don't get until the performance. The Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong is wrong. Ironically, it is that persecution that acquired the group to essentially motility to the United states and create the Shen Yun operation group. I felt like we were trapped in a bad, unending episode of America'due south Got Talent. A competent merely repetitive production.

NOT JUST Fine art, RELIGION AND POLITICS
I came to see a revival of a 5,000 twelvemonth onetime fine art form only to have religion and politics shoved downwards my throat. I came to see dancing, not men dressed in black with the hammer and sickle painted on their backs chirapsia upwards people. I feel pitiful for the artists because they are highly skilled but I volition never see this show again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

WORST SHOW E'er
It's all about Falun Gong. It's all about politics. This show does not reflect anything about chinese civilization. Exercise Not go.

SHEN YUN - Non WORTH THE MONEY
Beautiful costumes for the about part - lovely dancing ( maybe they fabricated it look too effortless} but irksome. Antiquated special furnishings - good for the nineties but not for today. Overtly religious and political. Some scenes depicting torture were not appropriate for children. The vocalist (tenor) sang in Chinese with Falun Gong propaganda in English on the screen above him - near laughable. Not what I expected at all from all the hype. Seating was bully. There are actually no bad seats at the Four Seasons Centre. Non recommended to anyone unless you are a Falun Gong follower

SHEN YUN
I was VERY disappointed. I saw the prove several years ago and loved it. The costumes and dancing was amazing. And so I was excited to go see it once more last nighttime. Merely I was VERY disappointed. The dancing was not skilful and just a few pretty costumes. The price was reasonable several years agone when I saw the production, but this fourth dimension the prices were outrageous!!! Do not waste your time or money!!!!!

NOT FOR Anybody
My grown daughter and I attended the show this afternoon and left at the intermission. I will be kind and say this isn't for anybody and in retrospect cannot believe many of the positive reviews were not fabricated. We were trying difficult not to laugh and left as soon as possible. Save your money.

HOLY CRAP! THIS WAS PURE CRAP!
This show was amidst the worst performances I accept ever seen of whatsoever kind. The set up was non existent except for an interesting digital groundwork that wore thin afterward a few of the numbers. The 'tenor' was a joke. His voice is reminiscent of a bleating sheep. The dancers were able-bodied, but artistically boring. With 2 exceptions (the Fairy Dance and Lost in Art), the performances were bromidic and non deserving of whatever credit. Finally, the political and religious (particularly during the last ii performances) of the evening were offensive. I wouldn't recommend this garbage to anyone and very much regret having wasted my time and money.
Chris from Victoria, British Columbia
SAVE YOUR Money FOR SOMETHING ELSE
If you've seen the trailer you have seen more content than is in the actual show. Yes, colours are dazzling and the outset ii or three scenes capture your attention. Are there pretty moments, yes. Are there athletic moments, yeah. However, the dancing is extremely basic covered by flowing material. At that place is intense political messaging and fifty-fifty a torture scene that would be troubling for many. The biggest problem is it's only not worth the coin. The video screen behind the acts suffers from terribly blowsy graphics and odd political messaging. And the betwixt scenes commentary is highly contrived and needs work. We love performance arts and regretted going. More than ten people around us simply left. Staying to the grand finale? Don't. The concluding scene is the worst of the bunch.
Jackie Kalina from Santa Barbara, California
I WAS DUPED
I had seen their adverts and expected an intense listen blowing performance. Paid over $300 for ii tickets. Costume due south were beautiful, content was the same and got to be deadening. Kept waiting for the spectacular to happen and never did. Idea of leaving at intermission just idea It would getter. It didn't. Plus, one felt they pushing a religious agenda and they WERE. We really felt "ripped off ". Would NEVER see it once again. Tried to take the more sophisticated view this was Chinese ballet. NO, it was boring.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
I have always wanted to see Shen Yun and afterwards so many years I finally made information technology!!! What a disappointment... It is so beautifully advertised!!! I was expecting art and all I got was political and religious propaganda.. You take likewise see it in guild to sympathise what I am talking well-nigh...or better don't.. save yourself some money.. I am non certain how people write amazing reviews well-nigh it. 19 themes with petty or no connection between them.. praising God knows what God.. anti-communism propaganda.. this is what the show is all virtually.. it is not art... I am sad to say it... deplorable for the dancers who were actually good... I likewise loved the orchestra... Iv Seasons Center of Performing Arts venue is very cute... simply ... simply .. just .. I did not see what they advertised... why practice they lie to people??? sooner or later everybody volition effigy this out... sad.... very sad...
Elisa from Seattle, Washington
Not WORTH YOUR MONEY OR Fourth dimension
With the cheapest tickets beingness around $100pp, there's no reason for anyone to go meet this operation. The message they seem to go a cantankerous is the Falun Gong is the way, for anybody. Although, not for people who drink, to those who have premarital sex (particularly with the same sex!) or to those who have "modern thought and acts". All in all, I felt similar I was witnessing a religious cult selling it cocky every bit the true manner because it is based on ancient teachings. They did try modernizing of the message in one human activity, which felt mormon-similar with their crisp uniforms and praising of the gold covered book.
TLC from Salt Lake Metropolis, Utah
PRICEY DISAPPOINTMENT
I thought I was being super disrespectful when I laughed inside thinking possibly it's but me, still past intermission half of my section was gone and a few more didn't come up dorsum after. They advertised beautifully choreographed artful dances, and what we got was a joke. In that location was maybe 2 dances close to worthy but the rest was a JOKE. Wished I would have looked up reviews before purchasing.
Gevan Rogers from Spokane wa
So SAD
Nothing but repetition of slow moving performances. The clothes modify merely that's all that does. I actually nodded off 3 times before intermission which is when I left. I would have been much meliorate entertained at home watching something like America's got talent. x to 15 people on a stage spinning around while a couple people practise some flips was non anywhere near worth the $150.00 information technology price.
